Warm congratulations to second year PhD candidate Abdiasis Issa, who was recently recognized at the International Studies Association (ISA)-South conference in Memphis, Tennessee with the James Winkates Graduate Student Paper Award for his paper, “Cities and Global Governance: Conceptualizing the Rise of Human Rights Cities in Practice”. This award was established by ISA-South in honour of Dr. Jim Winkates for his contributions to the discipline and his support of graduate students. The award judges graduate papers on mastery of the field, originality, logic, organization, good writing, and proper documentation.

Abdiasis received his award at a luncheon on Saturday, October 5.
